Are you suffering from Whiplash?
A whiplash accident affects the 7 cervical vertebrae of the neck and is most commonly caused by car accidents when the force of a blow from the rear causes the head to whip backward and forward.
This video shows how whiplash results from the rapid movement of the skull during a motor vehicle accident. This action can cause tears in the muscles, tendons or ligaments of the neck.
It can also cause a nerve to become pinched between two vertebrae, resulting in pain or numbness that may radiate down to the shoulder, arm and hand.

Three days with a Vancouver chiropractor apparently has done wonders for Red Wings defenseman Andreas Lilja, who remains on long-term injured reserve because of constant headaches stemming from an on-ice fight last season.
On the advice of teammate Brad May, Lilja met Donald Grant, a chiropractor and professional applied kinesiologist, during the team’s recent trip, and it has made a big difference.
“Starting to feel a lot better,” Lilja said after the Thursday morning skate at Joe Louis Arena. “After I met that guy, Don Grant, in Vancouver, I’ve begun to feel real good. I’ll practice now, and we’ll take it from there.”
“It worked miracles on me,” Lilja said. “I can’t really explain what he did, but it just worked really good for me.
“It’s unbelievable. I’ve been having headaches for eight months, and I see him for one day and headaches disappear for three days.
“Brad May recommended him. Right when he came (to the Wings), he said, ‘Go see that guy because he’s unbelievable.’ “
Grant said he saw “close to 80” NHL players last season. “A lot of the guys that know me will call me, and I’ll fly wherever they are,” said Grant. He said May and Lilja are the only Wings he has treated.
Have you got a pain in the neck at your workplace? No, not that annoying person. Neck, upper back pain, and headaches is a common complaint among office workers, especially women.
This repetitive strain injury is caused by working long periods of time (8-5 jobs) in bad postures with a computer. Your head weighs about 8-10 lbs and the muscles in the back of your neck are under tremendous stress if you’re looking down at a desk for 8 hours every day.
Want a simple solution? Get a copyholder. A copy what? It’s basically a paper stand that keeps your work at eye level and takes the strain off your neck. Very inexpensive solution that your neck will thank you for and you will be less stressed at the end of your work day.
